Looking for Janos Somodi and his daughter Kathy. Kathy came to our family
aged 2 in 1957 or so when
the Red Cross settled her in Ireland. Her father Janos later retrieved her
started a new life in England -
I belive as an electrical engineer with Lucas. He would be in his 60's
now. Kathy (Katie ?) would be
about 40. It is possibel he returned to Hungary.

Any leads would be helpful.

Dear Historians!
Long-long years ago an elderly relative of mine used to say in our private
history-lessons (strictly for the family) that in the question of invasion
the russians were undecided, until they got proof that the americans would
not interfere.
And this message came personally from Eisenhower, saying it openly that
"America does not like if small countries start business what is to big for
their forces"
I should like to know what could have been the source of this info? I
accept, that this information may not be correct, but in this case, what
did he misunderstand? Did E. say anything like that, how and when and where ?
Thanks Gergely

My mother will be visiting New York where her brother lives (near Rego
park), in febr 95 and will stay in Queens for about 3-4 weeks and thus
will need a room on a weekly basis
My mother speaks Hungarian and lives in Sweden, she is 73 old but looks
like 50 and is v vital, she likes to tour and travel etc;

Your suggestion will be surely answered.

TIA

+ - 12 demands of 100,000 on Oct. 22 (mind) VÁLASZ  Feladó: (cikkei)

Dear K.S. Juhasz, you missed the point, all 12 of them. As things are,
demands of the 100,000 were entirely reasonable. *This* is the point.

As to your question "who will be the group of "angels" that are going to
implement them and be the watchdog" - one hundred thousand already
volunteered. It is not difficult to find ten or hundred times more,
if that is what you call for.

This is what democracy should be all about. People voice their demand.
Elect a government to deliver on them (such as in 1994, to deliver on
a "socially sensitive" transition to post-communism). If government
betrays electors by turning on them 180 degrees, as it has clearly
happened to Hungary since the 12 of March, people openly demand the
resignation of the cheater government, that has lost therefore its
public trust, i.e. its mandate.

If 100,000 is not enough, there will be more - and the rest of the
demands (all eleven of them) have already been formulated and none of
them fails worldwidescrupulus.
